With regard to the client's plan to renovate the building envelope of the single-family house from 1970s, we examined various approaches.
Two suggestions arose in the process.
In the first proposal, we replaced the roof with a green flat roof. The existing windows in the living and bedrooms we converted into French doors and cladded the building with an insulated, rear-ventilated wooden facade.
With the second suggestion, we wrapped the single-family house in a more cost-effective composite thermal insulation system. Also, we replaced the existing asbestos shingle roof with an integrated PV system pitched roof and gable walls.
